A:There are two log burners, one in the living room and one in the dining room. There is also oil central heating. Outside the summer season, the heating comes on at 7am to 11am, 1pm to 3pm and 6pm to 11pm. You can override these at any time by switching the programmer to either “off” or “cont”. Please do not alter the programmed times. When you leave the house please ensure that the programmer is either set to “auto” for both heating and hot water.

A: On top of the bookcase there is a small black dome that pulsates dim blue and red coloured lights. This is a remote station that allows us to control the central heating by mobile phone. Please do not unplug it as it will switch off the heating and unless you are able to contact us you will not be able to switch it on again.

A: To improve the quality of the water we have had a water borehole drilled at the end of June 2010 to supply the house with mineral water. The hot water is timed to heat at 7am to 9.30am, 1pm to 2pm and 6pm to 8pm. You can override these times by switching the programmer to either “off” or “cont”. Please do not alter the programmed times. You can also heat the water electrically by pressing the water heater button mounted on the airing cupboard in the front bedroom. There is also a 10.5kw instantaneous electric shower in the bathroom.

A: To keep our rental prices low, and so that you know the quality of linen that you will be using for your holiday, we don't provide duvet covers, sheets or towels.  You will need to bring these with you for the number of guests in your group.  There's a 5ft king sized bed in the master bedroom and twin 3ft beds in the two other rooms.  We provide duvets for winter or summer use, and pillows for all the beds.

A: Of course you can and we would be very grateful if you would leave something for us to read when we are visiting. Additionally if you visit any worthwhile attractions please remember to take a leaflet and mention it in the visitor's book.

A: Unfortunately no because you will have the use of the full house and unless you were prepared to share the house with some complete strangers, the cost to us would still be the same. The price is also significantly less than you would expect to pay with some of the commercial agencies and for that reason we are unable to reduce the price further as to do so would be uneconomic.
A: At the moment we do not and as long as people use the utilities carefully and responsibly, we will continue to make no charge but reserve the right to change that approach if it becomes too expensive for us.
A: No we don't, but you may find left-overs from the previous guests. Likewise, you may feel you can help out the next guests by leaving part used bottles or packs yourselves.
A: No, but we will lay a fire with firelighters and kindling for you to light on your first night, and we will also leave some logs in the basket. Again, you may be lucky and find some additional left-over firelighters from the previous guests.  For subsequent nights you'll find supplies at the petrol station any many of the local shops sell handy nets of logs and kindling for about £3.  We usually bring 2 or 3 of them with us, which lasts about 4 evenings.
